TORONTO -- InteraXon, makers of cutting edge brainwave-enabled products and experiences, are showcasing Muse, the brain sensing headband and their first consumer product Muse’s Brain Health System, at the 2013 Consumer Electronic Show (CES). Muse’s Brain Health System will be available for walk-up demonstrations at booth 26728 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Muse’s Brain Health System simultaneously strengthens the cognitive and emotional parts of your brain through mental exercise. Muse, the brain sensing headband that makes Muse’s Brain Health system more powerful, measures brain activity during customized training exercises. The system allows the user to see how well they are performing so they can enhance their brain health. The Brain Health System is fun and easy-to-use, and it is designed to teach users how to improve focus, maintain composure in stressful situations and reduce anxiety, among other applications.

“With over 70 percent of all doctor and hospital visits being due to stress-related illnesses we wanted to design a brain health system that helped both the cognitive and emotional,” said Ariel Garten, Founder and CEO at InteraXon. “So many brain trainers focus on the cognitive aspects of the mind, but the emotional side is just as crucial. There needs to be a balance for you to have a healthy mind. We’re very excited to showcase our technology at CES.”

Technologically speaking, Muse is a four-sensor electroencephalography (EEG) headband that tracks the effectiveness of the brain by measuring how brainwaves react in real-time to applications and other stimuli. Brainwaves are translated to interact with mobile applications on smartphones and tablets wirelessly via Bluetooth. The device is designed for everyday use. It is slim, flexible and comfortable enough to wear for hours.

InteraXon takes a holistic approach to brain fitness, making use of scientifically proven exercises and techniques that promote cognitive and emotional brain health. Users can quantify and track their achievements as Muse measures brain performance every step of the way, ensuring lasting success and a more focused, relaxed and self-controlled mind.

Key product features include:

  • Real-time feedback during each brain training exercise
  • Fun and interesting exercises that keep you motivated
  • Wide range of exercises that: reduce stress, anxiety, fear, tension, negative emotions and thoughts, improve motivation and productivity, focus, concentration and memory
  • Flexible and lightweight headband with a rechargeable battery that lasts for 10 hours of continuous use

After CES, InteraXon will continue development on Muse’s Brain Health System and the technology platform powering it. The company is actively developing technologies and applications that will enable users to play games with their minds, improve brain function, and eventually, control devices.

As the Digital Health and Quantified Self categories grow, brain-computer interface technology will play a major role in becoming a part of everyday life, giving consumers the ability to meaningfully improve their minds, health, and what they know about themselves. InteraXon is poised to be a leader in these categories.
